Mark Marquez stated that Indonesia is a country that always gives different nuances in its career, including ahead of MotoGP Mandalika 2022.
In the MotoGP parade which took place on Wednesday (16/3), Marquez took action by doing stunts on the streets of Jakarta.
When asked about this, Marquez actually expressed his views about fans in Indonesia.
“Since I came here [Indonesia] In 2014 I really felt that Indonesia was different. There is a certain closeness, a country with good and friendly people. Yesterday was different,” said Marquez at the Mandalika 2022 MotoGP press conference.
“It’s good for MotoGP. It’s also important for Honda. I’m looking forward to racing [MotoGP Mandalika],” he continued.
After failing to get on the podium at the Qatar MotoGP, Marquez seemed embarrassed to mention his target at the Mandalika MotoGP. The racer nicknamed The Ant of Cervera only said he would undergo the 2022 MotoGP series step by step.
MotoGP 2022 is the first time for Marquez to finish in the series opener after two consecutive years of failing to do so. In the MotoGP 2020 opening series, Marquez had an accident and resulted in a fractured humerus so he could not appear in the first MotoGP series in 2021.
In the current drivers’ standings, Marquez is ranked fifth behind Enea Bastianini, Brad Binder, Pol Espargaro, and Aleix Espargaro.
Live streaming of MotoGP Mandalika can be seen through CNNIndonesia.com. Meanwhile, the Mandalika MotoGP live broadcast will be broadcast by Trans7.
