Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Repsol Honda Racers, Marc Marquez, revealed the reason for his anger after the accident at the second corner of the second free practice MotoGP Aragon 2021.
Marquez is following his younger brother, Alex Marquez, who rides an LCR Honda at the opening of the second free practice (FP2) at the Motorland Circuit, Friday (10/9). He was forced to go wide to avoid a crash at the 16th turn.
Then Marquez finally hit the outside of the circuit and into the gravel. After the fall, Marquez walked over the gravel and looked very angry as he lifted his motorbike.
The six-time MotoGP world champion admits it changed his plans for FP2 at the Aragon MotoGP.
“Today I’m happy, but it’s true that the plan changed a bit because of the accident. The plan, I will use the soft tires in the first lap, and the second lap just to understand the distance of the race,” said Marquez. Motorsport.
“It [kecelakaan] changed the plan a bit, but on the other hand we tried a hard rear tyre, so that changed the plan for this afternoon but didn’t change the plan for the weekend race because we already understood a few things.
Marquez admitted that he was angry about the accident because he felt he could still control his motorbike.
“It’s true after the accident I was angry because I felt in control. I went wide, and I said ‘OK, I give up’ because it was free practice,” he said.
However, explained Marquez, when he moved to a place that was not smooth, he lost his stability in front of the bike and at that moment he felt angry.
“Because then I found out with the accident I didn’t follow the right plan and because it was a situation I felt under control but I lost control of the front in places I didn’t expect,” he explained.
Marquez ended free practice at the Aragon MotoGP in eighth overall. While his teammate at Honda, Pol Espargaro is in 11th place.
