Fadil said his goal was to borrow the Formula E circuit, so that street motorcycle racing events could be held regularly. That way, it can accommodate the hobby of motorcycle racing fans.

“We plan to hold street races continuously and sustainably so that it can become a forum for illegal racers to be able to express their hobbies,” said Fadil when opening the Meikarta Street Race in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, Saturday (18/6) as reported by Antara.

Fadil reasoned that the Formula E circuit in Ancol, North Jakarta, is a more convenient location for drivers. Because of that, he wanted to hold a street race on the Formula E circuit.

However, Inspector General Fadil Imran’s hopes were hindered by the FIA’s assessment. The Formula E committee said it might not allow the circuit to be used if the street race in question is a motorcycle or two-wheeled race.

“For two-wheelers, we may not provide facilities because there has been an assessment from the FIA that the circuit is only for four-wheeled vehicles,” said Formula E executive chairman Sahroni at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Jl Medan Merdeka Selatan, Central Jakarta, Friday (24/6). ).

The Secretary General of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) explained that the Formula E circuit was only intended for four-wheeled vehicle racing. It refers to the world automotive regulations or FIA. Even so, he still appreciates Inspector General Fadil’s desire to accommodate people’s hobbies.

“Actually, we also appreciate the Kapolda who wants to also provide opportunities for two-wheelers. But this is a regulation from the FIA homologation, there is grade 3, which is indeed a circuit for four-wheeled vehicles. So we don’t apply two-wheelers to the circuit,” he explained.
