Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s decision to leave the Court and royal duties behind in 2020 was the hardest for King Charles. Author Robert Jobson reveals in his new book about Princess Catherine that in the past the relationship between father and son was very close.
The book reveals that Charles tried to maintain the same “loving and affectionate” relationship with Meghan as he did with Catherine. According to Jobson, Charles warmly welcomed the duchess into the family in his time, which is why Harry and Meghan’s move to the United States was even more difficult for the current king to handle.
In his work, the author hints that because of Harry’s “favorite son” status, Charles has also had a hard time digesting the uproar caused by Netflix documentaries and revealing books.
– At first, Charles tried to treat Meghan with the same love as Catherine, but they are very different personalities, Catherine – Princess of Wales – the book reveals.

The author’s view is that there is also a silver lining in a difficult situation. Disputes within the family have brought Charles and Prince William closer together.
