“The real question is not when will we resume”

Last December, Julien François, ex-FC Metz player between 2006 and 2009, took the reins of the Amnéville team, which plays in National 3. He explains today, in an interview with the Republican Lorain, his daily life in this period of confinement and how he continues to maintain the necessary links with his players since the end of the championships. He explains first of all that he returned to Corsica, where he lives in a village with his wife and son, so as not to put his parents, with whom he lived in Metz, in danger. He goes on to explain that he keeps many contacts with his players and the staff of Amnéville because it is important, in his eyes, to keep the strong link between the players, the staff and all those linked to the club. For him, football is a collective sport and there is therefore solidarity to be preserved. His role is therefore to try to keep the players in a minimal physical form with a program adapted to the situation, although he does not know what will happen next.

“The world of sport will be affected by this crisis”

Julien François continues his interview by explaining that today, he continues to exchange with his players via a WhatsApp group, that each player has an individual program and that he can see, thanks to an application, what the player does and How? ‘Or’ What. But he especially says that today, it is complicated to think of the sportsman in the light of the current situation. For him, the more time passes and the more the chances of resuming the championship diminish and that today, the question is not to know when the resumption will take place but rather when will start the next season. In his eyes, few players, coaches or leaders have the head in sports today but rather to know how to end the season financially and bounce back because it is inevitable, for him, that the world of sport will be affected by this crisis. But for now, he explains that the important thing is to work together to improve the health situation.
