Last Sunday was an afternoon to remember in Trubia, Real Juvencia achieved an epic victory, playing with 10 players for more than 75 minutes, which made Josué Velasco’s team the champion of their group in 1st Regional. A milestone that the Trubieco team had not achieved since the 1953-1954 season, when it achieved its last league in the category, beating Mosconia de Grado and climbing to Regional Preference.
The Quintana field showed an image that was not remembered in Trubia, with a full house, complying with the limits set by the covid19 protocol, the local team beat its main rival for the title with a very bulky score. The game started well for the locals, and after 9 minutes of play after a deep pass from Enri, the young local striker Mateo scored the goal of the afternoon, with a long shot against which the visiting goal could do nothing. The goal gave tranquility to the locals who began to combine and impose their pace of play. There were 75 minutes to go and Juvencia and their fans were preparing for a tough afternoon. After a few minutes of bewilderment, after half an hour fortune accompanied the local team when the left-back David Fernández scored an Olympic goal that unleashed euphoria in the local parish, and in turn was a blow to Pumarín. From here to the break, the team closed well behind, leaving with danger to the counter. The commitment of president Toño Balán and his board of directors for a team and a young coaching staff, has not been able to go better and the Club will face this Sunday the promotion phase to Preferred Regional, with great enthusiasm to return to a category in which it has more 23 years old without competing.
The rival in the playoffs will be one of the best teams of the year, the second group champion, Celtic de Puerto. A team that remained undefeated until the last day of the league, and that was the first to certify its classification as champion for this play off. The tie will be a single match in the Pixarra field, where Celtic de Puerto acts as a local, at 12.30 pm on Sunday the 13th, a date that will be set for one of the two teams, and that could be a big step in the race for promotion for the Trubia team.
