The Razer Opus is finally available in France at a relatively competitive price

Razer has just launched the Opus, its noise reduction headphones. The price is relatively low compared to high-end headsets from Bose and Sony.

It looks like a Sony WH-1000XM3, but it’s a Razer helmet. The gaming specialist has therefore launched into this field of mobile headphones with ANC (active noise reduction), we had already discovered this product in early May.

209.99 euros for the Razer Opus

Its particularity against Bose and Sony is undoubtedly the THX certification, which allows you to benefit from a balanced reference audio profile which highlights a precise and neutral sound. It is mainly positioned at 209.99 euros in France (available on the Razer store), which is lower than the selling price of high-end headsets at the biggest competitors, which is generally found at 350 euros.

The formalization of its marketing in Europe and the United States has also made it possible to have more details on its technical characteristics:

  • Speakers: 2 dynamic 40mm speakers
  • Weight: 265 grams
  • Frequency response: 20 Hz – 20 kHz
  • Microphones: 4 for hybrid active noise cancellation technology and 2 for voice chat
  • Pad shape: circumaural
  • In the box: headphones, high-end transport case, adapter for airplanes, 3.5mm analog cable, 1.5 m long, 30 cm USB-C to USB-C cable, USB-A to USB adapter VS
  • Battery life: up to 25 hours
  • Bluetooth (no details on the version)
  • Codecs: AAC & APTX, 4.2, A2DP, AVRCP, HFP

The only catch: Sony WH-1000XM3 is often on promotion around 250 euros, which is a very serious alternative to this Razer Opus. Find our guide to buying the best wireless headsets, maybe Opus will find a place there after its test.
