The Raptors take a New York victory in overtime

The Toronto Raptors took a hard-fought victory in overtime from Madison Square Garden by winning by a final score of 123-121.

Fred VanVleet led the scoring for the Canadians with 33 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals through an outstanding 5/13 on 3-pointers.

For his part, the work of Scottie Barnes was excellent, very active at both ends of the track. Furthermore, the sophomore he was able to fix the mess of his teammate VanVleet, who committed an inexplicable foul on Jalen Brunson in the final stretch of regulation time that almost cost them the game.

Barnes went up to 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Also contributed double-digit scorers Pascal Siakam, at the gates of the triple-double with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists, and guard Gary Trent Jr. finished with 18 points to his credit.

In the Knicks, who played their second game in less than 24 hours, RJ Barrett was left without an award for starring in the best play of the night with a tremendous coast to coast which allowed them to reach extra time with 0.6 seconds to go.

Barrett was the best exponent of the New Yorkers with 32 points and 7 rebounds; seconded by Jalen Brunson with 26 points and who had the triple of victory in his hands; and a Julius Randle who obtained his 11th consecutive double-double with 21 points and 15 rebounds, although with a 7/20 shot.

With his victory in Big Apple Nick Nurse’s men equal the Chicago Bulls at 20 victories and are close to the Play-in positions. On the other hand, the Knicks, who see their streak of 3 consecutive victories cut short, remain sixth in the East, taking advantage of the losses of the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers against the Boston Celtics and Atlanta Hawks respectively.
