This fall has been tough for American rapper Gerald Earl Gillum (32), better known as G-Eazy.
In mid-September, it became known that he had been arrested after getting into a fight on the streets of New York. According to among others NBC News the star is said to have hit two people in the face outside a hotel.
G-Eazy was present the night before MTV Video Music Awards, and was arrested on Monday, September 13, for the offense. However, he was released, and according to police, he was to appear in court at a later date.

On Wednesday night, however, the 32-year-old came with a very sad news on Instagram. There he announced that his mother, Suzanne Olmsted, has passed away. She was only 65 years old.
The post contains several photos, as well as a longer tribute to his mother, which he describes as “my everything”.
“The shock still does not allow me to accept the feeling that I will never hug you again. My queen, my hero, my everything… my mother. The tears will not stop. My eyes hurt, my face hurts, my body hurts, everything hurts. There is no safe place to hide, and there is no way to lie down, sit or stand that does not hurt. The pain is enormous ».
That’s how he started the heartbreaking post.
Furthermore, the rapper wrote that he admires how his mother has coped with all the pain and adversity, and added that she will always be his biggest inspiration. The rapper also wrote several times that he loves her.

Letter led to rehab
G-Eazy is honest that he has received treatment for his problems with alcohol and drugs, and opened up in the post about what made him realize that he needed help.
“Even how deeply concerned I was for you and your physical health, I did not realize the extent of how worried you were for me until you sent me the most difficult letter I have ever had to read… Going to treatment for alcohol and drug problems was mine decision, but your letter was what finally persuaded me “, he wrote.

The rapper wrote in conclusion that he is happy he has his brother James Wolcott Gillum, and that the two can lean on each other in the difficult times.
