“The Rapetou brothers are out!” : the WTF rage of Praud against the State

This Tuesday, May 12 on CNews, Pascal Praud embarked on a lunar rant against the State … Because of a fine for unpaid parking.

Frowning over his red rectangular glasses, his arm brandishing a ticket in front of the camera, he was visibly wound up on Tuesday, May 12. “Do you know what that is?”, questioned during its broadcast Pros Hour, on CNews, a Pascal Praud a bit mysterious, but in a gesture that one feels well oiled. “It’s a fine, it’s a fine !!!”, he then bawled. And to add: “The fines are back! 35 euros !!! ”, he launched about the fine for unpaid parking received by his collaborator Marine Lançon, the day before, in the XVIIth arrondissement of Paris.

“Poujadism is back”

“Here is a country which for two months has not always been able to give masks to its citizens, is not always able to give hydroalcoholic gel to its citizens, but on the first day of deconfinement, give you plums! The Rapetou brothers are out! ”, indignant the presenter. “Well, it scandalized me! And I’m not the only one ”, he said again, also citing a tweet José Garcia, who also received a ticket.

“So it’s the town hall of Paris, it’s not the state”, he recovered, before however incriminating again “The state”. “Poujadism is back”, Gérard Leclerc would have slipped him a little earlier. “No, it’s not ‘Poujadism is back’. It is a state which is capable of constantly stealing money, 35 euros for non-parking, and which is not capable of carrying out its primary missions. It made me angry! ”, again released the flagship host of CNews.

Among the columnists present, Gérard Leclerc seems to have tried to reason with Pascal Praud and his rant of the day: “Two minutes ago in the previous subject, you said ‘The law must apply to everyone’… ” And to emphasize: “The state, as you say, it is currently paying 60% of employees.”

The chain hastened to isolate and tweet this sequence. And of course, what had to happen happened: the video drew a lot of criticism on the web. Internet users have indeed criticized Pascal Praud for falling into demagoguery, and recalled the recent cases of police violence and the abusive controls at the start of the confinement. Others had fun with this totally lunar scene…

Anyway, between hosts and guests very right, and more than approximate analyzes, the editorial line of CNews which Pascal Praud is the figurehead does not seem likely to change… The chain has also acquired this Sunday of a new weekly show – In search of spirit – where the news is decrypted “With a Christian, spiritual, religious and philosophical outlook”.
