The Ramos Carrión Theater presents Katiuska, a play set in Ukraine with a profound message about the class struggle

The Clásicos de la Lírica Theater Company arrives at the Ramos Carrión Theater in Zamora with Katiuska, a dramatized story with a profound message about class struggle, duty and honor, power and love. It will be next Saturday, November 12, at 20:00, with tickets on sale at www.teatroramoscarrionzamora.com and at the box office, from Tuesday to Sunday, from 11:00 to 13:00 and from 17:30 to 20:00 and two hours before the show.

This company seeks to bring in new audiences, young, renewed viewers eager to enjoy a great show, as well as preserve and care for their regular audience.

In Zamora they will present this Katiuska, an original operetta by Emilio González del Castillo and Manuel Martín Alonso with music by Pablo Sorozábal. An opera that premiered on January 27, 1931 at the Victoria Theater in Barcelona.

The libretto is set in an inn on the outskirts of a Ukrainian town near the border with Romania in the late summer of 1918. The country is now immersed in a civil war, the Bolsheviks have taken power and imposed a regime that it imposes heavy taxes on peasants. As a result, man and war force many people to leave the country.
