A new trend has been observed in animal shelters in Latvia – during the last six months, several farm animals – goats, rams and rabbits – have come here, the program “900 Seconds” reported.
According to the shelter management, people’s actions are often very irresponsible.
Four goats have been staying at the Ulubele Shelter for two weeks now. At the end of August, news was received that five goats live in the Rumbula small garden area without supervision for several days, says Ilze Džonsone, the head of the animal shelter “Ulubele”. By the time he arrived, one was already dead.
During the last six months, eight goats have arrived at Ulubele.
The first goat was found on Jaunciema gatve street. In addition, she turned out to be expecting babies. In July, this goat, named Lady Gaga, also welcomed two kids.
There are more and more farm animals, so the help of volunteers is very much needed.
