“The Quietness of Ireland Surprised Me in a Positive Way: My First Impression”

As a traveler venturing to foreign lands, our initial perceptions of a new country can either be met with excitement or disappointment. It’s only natural to approach a new environment with a preconceived idea of what to expect. For some, these expectations align perfectly with reality, while for others, their expectations are entirely overturned. Ireland, with its rolling green hills and quaint rural towns, is often associated with a peaceful and tranquil ambiance. However, for one traveler, their first impression of Ireland was a pleasant shock that left them with a distinct memory to cherish. With very little knowledge of the English language, Coolio Antonio struggled to integrate and make friends when he moved to Ireland from Angola 15 years ago. However, three years ago, a friend persuaded him to join an adult learning course, which Antonio initially found daunting. Yet he persevered and, over time, his confidence grew, and his English-speaking abilities started to flourish. Antonio has since gained a National Framework of Qualifications Level 3 award, and he plans to continue learning until he achieves Level 5. In his spare time, Antonio likes to play football in Fairview Park, where he has made many friends.


In conclusion, visiting Ireland for the first time was an unforgettable experience. The peacefulness of the country was a pleasant surprise, and it allowed me to fully immerse myself in the culture and beauty of the land.
