The Quartier Moderne Young Creators Show will return to the Espace de l’Océan from Friday December 3 to Sunday December 5, 2021. Its organizers promise great discoveries
Fdetermined women, Marie-Barbara Moles-Pontallier and Anne Paillot, organizers of the young designers’ fair Modern Quarter, have not given up, after the cancellations of the spring and winter editions of 2020 and that of June 2021, due to the health crisis. “In the spring of 2020, everything was ready when containment arrived. We immediately informed all participants. It was a shock, ”recalls Marie-Barbara Moles-Pontallier.
But the time for Quartier Moderne to come back has arrived and the two organizers hope that it will be a strong edition. About forty designers will be present at the Espace de l’Océan on Friday 3, Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 December 2021 for the 21e edition of Quartier Moderne.
“All the people who work in events like us suffered from the period of restrictions, but here we are,” smiles Marie-Barbara Moles-Pontallier.
“We are a little nervous, for fear that our reflexes have become dull during the long period of inactivity,” continues Anne Paillot. We had to relearn the trade, but everything came back very quickly. The creators we do this for were also impatient. Of the 40 present, 24 will participate for the first time. “
This is proof that the Covid-19 did not destroy creation. From Nantes, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Agen, but also many from the Basque Country and the Landes, they will testify from December 3 to 5 at the Espace de l’Océan. “We simply made sure to strengthen our requirements in terms of quality and brand identity of the professionals who are present,” continues Marie-Barbara Moles-Pontallier. We can see it, for example, with shoes Meghan of Biarritz, offbeat objects like those of Skimau, coming from Pau, the paintings and embroidery on vintage clothes from Double glazing in Anglet, where still the original caps made from scraps of materials found in a radius of 50 kilometers from Imaginators, in Ordiarp, in Soule, which were awarded by Chanel. “
High demands
The Quartier Moderne tandem also ensures that it is very picky about the way in which the clothing and household items offered are made. “We too want to develop the show,” explains Marie-Barbara Moles-Pontallier. By offering more demanding creations. “
Quartier Moderne will open its doors (admission 3 euros) on Friday December 3, 2021 at 3 p.m. and until 8 p.m. It will be open Saturday December 4 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday December 5 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. During the duration of the show several workshops are offered. To make embroidered creations with Lucille Rat, to get a tattoo in an original way with the Antechamber, to learn about engraving with Azénor, to have your hair done with Églantine Reigniez or to obtain dreamy hands with Nuktis. To eat and drink, there is a food truck, coffee-shop and refreshment bar on site.
