The Putin Regime Has No Place in Bali’s G20, Ukraine Please Come

Secretary of the United States of America (USA) Janet Yellen held a press conference in Nusa Dua, Bali this afternoon. On that occasion, Yellen revealed that representatives from Russia did not have a place in the meeting forum of the Ministers of Finance of the members G20.

“Representatives of the Putin regime have no place in this forum,” he said at a press conference in Nusa Dua, Bali, Thursday (14/7/2022).

Meanwhile, he expressed his support for Ukraine. Yellen said she welcomed the presence of the Ukrainian representative at the Presidency G20whose meeting is said to be held tomorrow, Friday (15/7).

“We stand firm with the Ukrainian people, and I look forward to welcoming the Ukrainian Finance Minister to this G20 meeting tomorrow,” he explained.

Yellen said that because the invasion carried out by Russia had a negative effect, namely an increase in energy prices and a food crisis. Even the invasion by Russia is considered illegal and violates international law.

“The negative spillover effects of the war in every corner of the world, especially in light of higher energy prices, and increasing food insecurity,” he said.

Yellen also said the inflation the US was facing was caused by the war Russia was waging. “Inflation in the United States remains very high and it is our administration’s top economic priority to bring it down,” he added.

Therefore, Yellen said the US remained in its position condemning the actions of the state led by Russian President Vladimir Putin. He also invites the whole world to also be able to condemn his actions Putin.

“The United States remains steadfast in condemning war Putin and the atrocities committed by his troops. The international community must have a clear view of holding Putin accountable for the global economic and humanitarian consequences of his war,” he said.

In this G20 Presidency forum, he said that discussions would continue on assistance for countries affected by the Russian war.

“This includes addressing food insecurity as well as imposing a cap on Russia’s oil prices,” he concluded.
