Puppet performance at Ponpes Ora Aji belongs to Gus Miftah | which shows the puppeteer beating the ‘wayang with cap’ allegedly similar Ustaz Khalid Basalamah generate controversy. Gus Miftah also apologized for the noise caused.
Gus Miftah’s apology was uploaded on his personal Instagram @gusmiftah, Wednesday (23/2/2022). Initially, Gus Miftah mentioned the authority of the puppeteer in wayang performances, which could not be interfered with in his plays.
“Interview of the mastermind Ki Warseno Slank with TV Onethe puppeteer with all his authority cannot be interfered with the play he brings, the puppeteer is independent with the play he brings,” wrote Gus Miftah.
“But the stage is at Miftah’s hut… what’s wrong, Miftah!!!” he added.
Then Gus Miftah talked about the destruction of wayang which was considered quite simple. According to him, wayang is considered destroyed if no one is there anymore.assume‘ again.
Lha Miftah assume just so that its sustainability is maintained, instead it is blamed … basically Miftah is wrong, and must apologize. Okay, blame me, don’t be the mastermind, staple Miftah’s fault,” he said.
“OK fine…I’m sorry for the noise that happened, not because assume puppet!” he added.
As is known, the puppet show which took place at the Gus Miftah Islamic Boarding School led to strong criticism from various circles. The puppet show initially went viral through a 1.15 minute video clip.
In the video, a puppet wearing a cap is seen being beaten by an angry Baladewa puppet. In his anger, the Baladewa figure continues to express his anger at people who just talk about the existence of wayang.
It didn’t stop there, the wayang wearing the cap was not only beaten by Baladewa. At the end of the video clip that went viral, the dalang also stood up, then slammed the puppet while saying harsh words.
Furthermore, after being slammed, the puppet was handed over to someone else with the words “Crowned! Crushed!” while mentioning the names of the people who were asked to destroy the puppets. The puppet rotates from hand to hand. Some slammed, some punched.
