The pulse, musical | Paying homage to Jan Eggum’s musical: – He comes out with a broad smile around his mouth

– I give him a six, because when you leave the show you have a big smile on your face. That means it was fun, says Rune Larsen.

The man from Laksevåg calls the musical Eggum a very funny performance.

– What binds me best is the humor in comedy, he says.

God answers

Saturday was the first of Jan Eggum’s musical “One night past”. It is the great adventure of the Forum scene this fall. Over 15,000 tickets have already been sold for upcoming performances.

There was laughter in the hall from start to finish and most of the people seemed to leave the place satisfied.

See the audience verdict in the video below:

Bergen residents Bjarte Hjelmeland, Karoline Krüger, Christine Guldbrandsen, Claus Sellevoll and Kristian Berg Jåtten make up the acting team on stage. Eventually, the popular Jan Eggum also appears in the role of himself.

After the premiere, BA chose three random members of the audience that we let them roll the dice with reasons. Rune Larsen was one of them, Torild Moldøen another.

– Fantastic. Jan Eggum’s music is absolutely beautiful and they all performed it very well. There were also tears at the end, he says, rolling a six.

Laila Nordsveen also enjoyed the performance. She is a diehard Jan Eggum fan and she believes he was the best on stage. The lady who made the trip from Oslo only for the first one has no regrets and rolls the dice five.

– I am completely impressed with the singing performances. Bjarte Hjelmeland carries a lot and Krüger is great. Each one of the others is also good in their own way, but when you’re an Eggum fan at the level they are, I go too far into analyzing the details. Maybe he’s unfair to the good musical, which I’m actually glad I saw.

Such was the performance

The romantic comedy tells the story of Bjørn (Hjelmeland) who wants to take his wife Lise (Krüger) to a concert by Jan Eggum, without the latter’s consent. Eventually we understand why, but along the way we are served lots of fun gold nuggets and Eggum music.

In the opening scene, we meet the main characters and the married couple Bjørn (Hjelmeland) and Lise (Krüger). The first is a character who talks about inhaling and exhaling. He struggles to see anything from a perspective other than his own and lacks some self-awareness. In short, a somewhat hopeless character. A man you laugh with and don’t laugh with, who seems to fit in well with the audience. They sure are laughing at him.

Independently. It is the couple’s wedding day. Bjørn is proud, excited and excited: he has arranged a place on the guest list for himself and his wife for the Jan Eggum concert. Lise, on the other end of the phone line, obviously isn’t happy with the plan that’s been put in place. She hides it as best she can in conversation, but her face doesn’t lie to the public.

Lise frantically tries to get away from the concert and calls her best friend Truls Even (Jåtten). She is asked to pretend it’s her birthday and to be with them drinking wine, as a cover plan. Bjørn believes it three is one too many, and he doesn’t like that his wife’s friend now stands in the way of his romantic recipe for success. He solves the situation by arranging a third ticket for the concert.

In short, he ends up having to organize five tickets, because their new neighbor Julie and Tommy, Bjørn’s colleague, suddenly ended up at the vorspiel at the couple’s house. As you wonder along the way if it’s the case that Lise doesn’t want to go to the concert herself, or if she really just wants to avoid dating her husband, you finally understand where the reluctance is coming from her. Without giving too much away, she has to do with her relationship with Jan Eggum.

The first got a good response from those present. There was laughter during most of the scenes and the cheers were not spared. Towards the end of the show, the audience rose to a long standing ovation. Jåtten in particular received a lot of laughs for his role as Truls Even, while Jan Eggum himself was the one who provided the highest decibel level in the room.
