Van den Kerkhof emphasized to our editors last week that he was shocked. He also talked about support within the company. “I am very sorry that certain people have experienced our corporate culture in this way. On the other hand, we have hundreds of employees who feel very much at home within Plopsa.”
And that should also be apparent today from an open letter in Het Laatste Nieuws. Dozens of Plopsa employees bought page-sized advertising space to make their voices heard. They talk about “one-sided stories about their employer and management” and about “an adapted version of reality”.
“Together with the colleagues signing this letter, we have more than 500 years of experience, or more accurately, more than 200,000 days without transgression,” it reads. The signatories “thank Steve” and say they are an “incredibly proud team”.
