From a riff by its bassist Antonio Chicho Fortino that emerged in the rehearsal room, which grew with spontaneous contributions and was consolidated in the studio, “Oceanic Storm” is born, the new track by La Psychoband that comes after the version of “Moby Dick “, first single advance of the next disc.
“When we faced this issue in the studio, we did it in a process of searching and exploring identity, of going beyond the Blues trio and developing a sound that implies evolution. This is how the decision emerges to assume the leading role using the guitar, in the manner of a voice, and to do so in commitment and complement to the bass and drums ”, says Caro Lavanderos.
Like the previous cut, “Oceanic Storm” was recorded in one take and has a duration that does not exceed 3 minutes, an aspect that the 9 tracks of this new album will have, a bet made by producer Jaime Marín. “The duration of the songs on this new album has been a conscious decision and accepted by the entire team as correct. The way music is consumed today leads us to adapt to be able to reach more people, without betraying the spirit of the style ”, adds Lavanderos.
“Oceanic Storm”, which opens with an animated video clip by the artist Chio Barra, consolidates a new working modality, with a greater team of professionals involved who have taken the project a few steps higher and that its members define as “ a leap that we did not imagine just a couple of years ago ”.
