Jakarta –
After Tsamara Amany and Surya Tjandra, now Michael Sianipar has decided to leave psi extension. What drives the PSI to leave its best cadres?
Indonesian Policy Parameters (PPI) director Adi Prayitno mentioned a number of factors. First, because the PSI hasn’t passed through parliament.
“It seems that because of the PSI factor it didn’t pass Senayan even though he repeatedly ran in elections. Anyone who is the elite must be tired of being in a party that never passed parliament,” Adi told reporters on Saturday (10/12/2022).
Adi considers that the PSI needs a total overhaul. Including changes related to strategy and political issues. If we don’t improve immediately, added Adi, it is not impossible that key PSI cadres will switch to other parties.
“(The second factor) In terms of issues, the PSI seems very confrontational, liberal and very aggressive. This is not in accordance with our political culture which tends to be moderate,” said Adi.
According to Adi, the issues raised by the PSI should be softer and not cause a stir. The third factor is in terms of organization.
“The PSI needs a strong and authority figure. The PSI president currently lacks solid experience as a political activist. In fact, he is more important as a boy band. His authority as party president is less enthusiastic,” he said Goodbye.
KedaiKOPI Institute founder Hendri Satrio said another factor that made party champions leave PSI was related to the “attack Anies Baswedan” agenda.
“In my opinion, because it is seen in the public opinion that there is only one program of the PSI, which attacks Anies Baswedan. It shouldn’t be like that, right? Political parties should be objective,” said Hendri.
The PSI, Hendri explained, must be able to bring about political changes and educate citizens. With the phenomenon of frontmen leaving the party, the PSI is believed to need to improve.
“The PSI champions are gone, maybe they have their reasons, but even the PSI doesn’t feel comfortable with the disappearance of several frontmen,” added Hendri.
PSI Left by Michael Sianipar
PSI just lost a front man. It is Michael Sianipar, who previously served as President of DPW PSI DKI Jakarta. Michael Sianipar said the PSI had changed and had systemic problems.
“What I wish for is the coherence of the values transmitted when this party was founded, that these values are actually implemented and not just jargon. When I feel that the reality is not as promised and imagined, then I think that’s enough. My fight is in this party,” Michael Sianipar told reporters on Friday (9/12) evening.
Before Michael, PSI also lost its champion. These are Surya Tjandra, former Deputy Minister of Agricultural Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) and Tsamara Amany, who previously served as PSI DPP Chair 2017-2022.
