A year ago, Pensacola State College didn’t even have an esports program. Now, the PSC eSports program is sending two teams of two to the National Junior College Athletic Association Esports (NJCAAE) Playoffs to compete in Call of Duty: Warzone.

“As a starter in our first season, I was hoping we would get a team into the playoffs,” said PSC Esports Coordinator Scott Brumfield. “We have two teams here. This is a huge achievement.

Ranked 11th in Warzone, PSC Team 1, consisting of Jackson Clyde and Joel Montoro, take on 22nd Southwest Illinois College on Wednesday, November 30 at 6 PM PDT. PSC Team 2 Michael Buffington and Josiah Gaidia are ranked 19 and will face 14th ranked North Central Missouri College, also Wednesday at 6pm.

Thirty-two two-year varsity teams will compete in the “Warzone” tournament, just one of twelve games played in NJCAAE competition.

The PSC Esports team kicked off its inaugural season in October, playing at the college’s Esports Arena in Building 5.

More than 125 two-year colleges in the United States have an esports team.
