The PS5 hardware finally exposed in this disassembly video from Sony

Sony has in a new video released on the official PlayStation Blog given us a complete overview of how PS5the hardware looks inside.

In the detailed disassembly shown below, we get to see the internal components of the PS5, including the system fan, optical drive and motherboard. We do not recommend disassembling your console yourself, of course, no matter how simple Yasuhiro Ootori, who works in the hardware design department at Sony, makes it look.

The video also gives us a very good idea of exactly how big the PS5 console will be. When you see Ootori sitting on a chair next to the PS5 on a table, the console protrudes well over his shoulders. Even though we do not know exactly how tall Yasuhiro is, or how tall the chair and table are, it is still clear that we are dealing with a giant console (which is also one of the heaviest of all time.)

We are also served what is probably the very first published look on the back of the PS5 in this disassembly video. Unfortunately, there are no surprises to be found on the back. Here you will find two USB-A ports, an HDMI (out) port, an Ethernet port (LAN) and a power input. All the usual, in other words.
