The first season of the Liga Malaguea de Breaking 2020, sponsored by the Malaga Provincial Council and organized by the El Taller Breaking Sports Club, puts the finishing touches on Saturday, December 19, with its final phase. Break dance will be an Olympic sport in Paris 2024 and we want to support this club, the first of this sport in Andalusia, to try, in addition, to speak the same language as our youth. From the Provincial Council we want to take advantage of this milestone to support all those Malagueos who already practice it and, for those who do not, so that they are encouraged to do so, explained the First Vice President and Deputy for Education, Youth and Sports of the Malaga Provincial Council, Juan Carlos Maldonado.
The vice-president stressed that this project, which is a pioneer in Spain, has been very well received and demonstrates, on the one hand, the growing interest of our youth in this discipline and, on the other, the obligation we have to promote it from the administrations. Sport is health and from Diputacin we have the firm objective of promoting it among Malaga society.
According to Maldonado, times change and so do public institutions, who must be at the side of the concerns of our young people, know their interests and, of course, speak the same language. They are no longer young people on the street who dance out of passion. Now they are athletes who can reach the elite and who are opening a new horizon of professional opportunities.
For his part, Ventura Daz, president of the CD El Taller Breaking, who thanked the Provincial Council for their support, has specified that our quarry currently has national recognition, in the minors’ competition, with three medals in three categories: two golds and a bronze. In January the competition is held in the professional category and we want to continue training and competing to have a good level.
Break dancing is associated with a male culture, but since our work began, we now have an exclusively female team that dances breaking, has detailed Alejandro Morales, vice president of the El Circulo Breaking Association, who has emphasized that for me it is a triumph that we are here today with this support. The event was also attended by Nerea Ruiz, an athlete participating in the Malaguean Breaking League.
The final phase of next Saturday, which will be at the CD El Taller Breaking facilities, located in Calle Parauta, 28 (Polgono La Estrella), in the city of Malaga, will face the first eight people classified in both categories in the Malaguean Breaking League. . Thus, the matches in the Kids category are Super Mario vs Sergio UDD; Camino vs Angelito; Samuelf vs Cheli and R. Flow vs Lady Guerra. In the Pro category, the pairings are Xven vs Yosbani; Lil Dany vs Sweet; Gannicus vs Tenxhip and Little scar vs Moldeivor.
The evaluation system of the battles will be like that of the competitions organized by the Spanish Federation of Sports Dance (FEBD) so that each round will be judged individually and in case of a tie a third will be held to determine the winner of the battle. . In the quarterfinal and semifinal battles, the best of three rounds will be the winner and the final will be won by the best of five rounds (the first to reach three).
The jury for this competition, which has international experience and a long history, is made up of Bboy Big George (Malaganzters Crew, Malaga); Bboy H2 (Red Wine Crew, Venezuela) and Bboy Migue Fresh (Fresh Rocking Flava, Malaga).
