The Equality Deputy of the Provincial Council of Malaga, Lourdes Piña, today announced the second edition of a program promoted by this institution and that combines theater and dance with educational workshops to prevent gender violence; in collaboration with the association The burrow and with CaixaBank.

Specifically, under the name of ‘Barrio Paraíso’, this theater cycle will tour the province of Malaga through twelve performances aimed at schoolchildren from 1st of ESO to high school, as stated by Piña in a press conference in which he has She was accompanied by the actor and member of La Madriguera Salva Reina and by the director of the CaixaBank Business area, Francisco Ramos.

The provincial head of Equality has thanked the collaboration of both the association and the financial entity, “because with your support we achieve that our resources, our ideas and our will in this fight against gender violence have more strength.”

Piña recalled that this season of theater celebrates its second edition this year “and once again we propose to tackle gender violence through theater and dance”; with a second part that is materialized in a series of educational workshops where the participants in the show themselves will reflect with the students on the issues addressed during the performance.

“From the Diputación de Málaga we are very clear that in order to fight against this scourge and achieve real and effective equality, we must address this issue from education; It is one of the basic pillars to prevent this type of violence ”, stressed the provincial leader, who has advanced that through these activities issues such as“ what is a healthy relationship and a toxic relationship, situations of machismo or micro-sexism or stereotypes around what is understood by romantic love and how much damage it can do from the point of view of gender violence ”.
