This week the 2020-2021 season has officially started at the Moisés Ruiz Sports Pavilion. The new sports course is marked by the exceptional situation generated by the health emergency caused by the coronavirus. The Almería Provincial Council has drawn up a complete decalogue of exceptional measures in relation to Covid-19 so that sports practice can be carried out in Moisés Ruiz safely for all users of the facility.
The actions that are part of the regulations for the use of the Moisés Ruiz Pavilion For the season that has just started, they have in common preserving the health of the athletes, technicians and workers of the clubs and the Pavilion, and they have already been launched after a complete study of the situation by the Sports Department of the Provincial Council. For this, all the recommendations of the health authorities are applied, as well as common sense to stop the spread of the virus.
Broadly speaking, the main measures consist of preserving social distance, a minimum of 1.5 meters, as well as the mandatory use of a mask, at all times except during sports. The reduction of capacity in changing rooms, common and transit areas, or the intensification of cleaning, disinfection or hand washing actions, the disinfection of the sports equipment used at the end of each training session, the appointment by each club of a Covid manager …, Constitute some of the main measures of the new regulations for the use of Moisés Ruiz for the 2020-21 season.
Sports deputy, María Luisa Cruz, has stated that “sport cannot be stopped, that is why we have designed a regulation for the use of the Moisés Ruiz Pavilion that allows top-category clubs, who train and play their games in this facility representing the entire province, continue with your activity with the maximum security guarantees. It is a difficult context, but we have to work as a team and adapt to the situation to overcome it together ”.
In this sense, the deputy recalled that the regulations for the use of the Pavilion have been made known to the representatives of the four entities that will use it during the new season and praised “their willingness, collaborative spirit and understanding for the moment we live and the joint efforts we are carrying out to try to make the health emergency affect sport as little as possible ”.
Another novelty resides in the use of the Pavilion’s sports court, which, due to the impossibility of serving all the requesting entities and teams in the context of the exceptional situation, and in order to facilitate the application of the security decalogue , it can only be used by four entities:
• Almería Unicaja Volleyball Club: Men’s Volleyball Super League.
• CB Almería: a women’s team from Liga LF2 and a men’s team from Liga EBA.
• Club AVG 2008: Women’s Volleyball Superliga 2.
• Cludemi: Second National Wheelchair Basketball Division.
Also, the deputy recalled that this regulation is “flexible” and has the ability to adapt to the health situation at any time. “Sport has been one of the sectors most affected by the coronavirus, and one of the last to recover activity after the lack of definition. We have to reinvigorate it, always prioritizing the safety of all participants. Social and individual responsibility, as well as discipline for the correct application of the regulations are fundamental at this stage. The clubs and all the people of Almeria count on our support so that the sport does not stop ”, stated Cruz.
Security for all users
Among the rest of the security protocol measures, it can be highlighted that the center court can only be used transversally by two teams, and very punctually. The capacity in the changing rooms is limited. In the larger ones, only 12 people can coincide simultaneously, and 6, 2 and 1 in the others according to their dimensions from largest to smallest. Cleaning protocols are established for all common use spaces.
On the other hand, athletes from different clubs or entities will not be able to coincide in the gym, and exhaustive compliance with the schedules will be required to avoid the overlap in common areas of different teams, as well as new accesses and circulations will be enabled to comply with this same objective.
The authorized sports activities will be developed according to the conditions set by the corresponding Andalusian and Spanish federations in relation to the prevention of Covid-19. These protocols and measures must be validated by the regional or state health and / or sports administration, depending on the competition area in which the sports entity is registered.
If an athlete shows symptoms of Covid 19 or has had close contact with a confirmed case, they should immediately notify their club. In turn, the Covid manager of the entity must notify the managers of the Sports and Youth Area of the Diputación de Almería.
