Salvador Illa, Minister of Health, announced at a press conference that, for another week, the Community of Madrid, the metropolitan area of Barcelona and specific areas of Castilla y León will not go to phase 1. This is how we collect it on the map that accompanies these lines, which reflects that 70% of Spain is already in phase 1.
Specifically, on this occasion Malaga and Granada, which were the only Andalusian provinces that had lagged behind, have managed to meet the requirements of Health for the phase change. They have also achieved it in Castilla-La Mancha, with the advance of Albacete, Ciudad Real and Toledo.
The Valencian Community has also been able to access the change to phase 1 they had demanded from the get-go. As for Catalonia, Lleida, Girona and the central zone will leave phase 0 of the de-escalation plan. For Madrid, Barcelona and the territories of Castilla y León still affected by phase 0, flexible measures have been implemented to carry out certain activities typical of phase 1.
Changes as of Monday 18
They go to phase 1:
Andalusia: Malaga and Granada leave phase 0 to join the rest of the autonomous provinces in phase 1.
Castile and Leon: The 42 health areas that requested the pass to phase 1 will do so from Monday. Along with the previous 26, there are already 68 Castilian-Leonese areas in phase 1.
Catalonia: Lleida, Girona and central Catalonia in the province of Barcelona move on to phase 1.
Valencian Community: The 14 health zones that were still in phase 0 will go to phase 1 as of Monday, May 18.
They go to phase 2:
The islands of La Graciosa, La Gomera and El Hierro, in the Canary Islands, and the island of Formentera, in the Balearic Islands, will go into phase 2 of the de-escalation as of May 18. The rest of the island territories will continue in phase 1.
They continue in phase 0, but with relief:
Madrid, Barcelona and their metropolitan area and a part of the territory of Castilla y León will continue in phase 0 of the de-escalation as of Monday, May 18. But Health has announced relief measures within phase 0 that you can consult here.
