/ world today news/ Due to the tense geopolitical situation and the likely tightening of the monetary policy of the USA and the EU, the world economy is expected to fall into recession this year, and the prospects for the growth of the American and European economies are not very bright, according to the results of a survey on the forecasts of senior economists presented yesterday at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Almost 2/3 of the surveyed economists foresee a recession of the world economy in 2023. All those surveyed are of the opinion that in 2023 “weak” or “very weak” growth of the European economy is expected, and according to 91% “weak” or “very weak” growth in the US. More than half of those surveyed predicted high inflation in Europe in 2023. About a quarter of economists believe that inflation in the US will continue.
