The prosecutor’s office with extraordinary news for two from Kiril Petkov’s list

The Supreme Cassation Prosecutor’s Office sent to the competent prosecutor’s offices the information gathered concerning two of the persons on the list provided by Prime Minister Kiril Petkov.

In view of the publicity and accountability that the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Bulgaria owes to the Bulgarian society, the Supreme Cassation Prosecutor’s Office (SCP) provides the following information:

In connection with an inspection conducted by the Supreme Prosecution Office under Art. 145 of the JSA regarding a list provided by the Prime Minister Mr. Kiril Petkov, indicating possible crimes of a general nature by 19 persons, the data received from the Ministry of Interior, SANS, KPKONPI and NRA regarding 2 of the persons, together with media publications, are sent to the competent prosecutor’s offices.

With regard to the person AM, sanctioned under the global law “Magnitsky”, it was established that the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office (SGP) is conducting pre-trial proceedings for evasion and avoidance of tax liabilities. In view of this, the materials from the executive authorities, together with the articles, were sent to the SGP for competence for assessment for joining the same to the evidence in the case.

According to A.M. The Blagoevgrad District Prosecutor’s Office has filed an indictment in the Blagoevgrad District Court for illegal receipt of funds from funds belonging to the European Union.

With regard to the second person – VB, it has been established that he is one of the Bulgarian citizens sanctioned under the global law “Magnitsky”. The person was brought in as a defendant in monitored pre-trial proceedings by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office (SP), in view of which the materials from the Ministry of Interior, SANS, KPKONPI and NRA concerning VB and media publications were sent to the SP under jurisdiction.

The Bulgarian public will be promptly informed about further actions in the course of the inspection conducted at the Supreme Prosecution Office.

For the purpose of objectivity and information, we call on the representatives of the media and Bulgarian citizens to find out about the actions of the prosecutor’s office from reliable sources in order to prevent the dissemination of false or manipulative information.
