/ world today news/ The prosecutor’s office has started an investigation following the “Protest Network” report, a full audit will be carried out of Peevski, Barekov, Vasilev and their related persons

By decrees of the prosecutor’s office of the National Revenue Agency (NAA), Delyan Peevski, Tsvetan Vasilev and Nikolay Barekov were assigned to carry out full tax audits. This is stated in a message to the media, sent by the press center of the Prosecutor’s Office, in connection with yesterday’s signal of the “Protest Network”.

The report concerns allegations of committed tax crimes and other violations of the law by Delyan Peevski, Tsvetan Vasilev and Nikolay Barekov, as well as violations of tax laws and unclear financing by commercial companies.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, an investigation has begun following the report. In the course of it, data will be requested from the Audit Chamber, the National Revenue Agency, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Security State Agency, the State Information Security Commission, the Registration Agency, the Bulgarian National Bank and other bodies.

By decrees of the prosecutor’s office of the National Revenue Agency, Delyan Peevski, Tsvetan Vasilev and Nikolay Barekov have been assigned to carry out full tax audits. Tax control activities are to be assigned to other natural persons as well as to their related commercial companies.

Explanations from examinees and other persons will be removed, including regarding allegations of pressure and requests for a “media umbrella” over criminal activity. The Appellate Prosecutor’s Office-Sofia is entrusted with official control in relation to decisions of prosecutors from the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office to refuse to institute or to terminate criminal proceedings based on reports concerning the inspected persons. A check for such signals and conducted operational cases will be carried out by prosecutors from the Supreme Cassation Prosecutor’s Office and in the DANS.
