On the 22nd local time, New York prosecutors secured key evidence of tax evasion, including tax data for eight years worth of former President Trump.
As soon as the Supreme Court decided to “submit the data to the prosecution,” the former President Trump executed the subpoena.
In August 2019, it has been a year and a half since the investigation began.
The investigation began with a suspicion that, ahead of the 2016 presidential election, former President Trump delivered large sums of silence money to two women who claimed to have had sexual encounters.
Initially, the prosecution had in mind the charges of violating the Election Fund Act, but now it has expanded to the Trump Group’s suspicion of tax evasion and financial fraud.
Earlier, former President Trump’s personal attorney Michael Cohen also testified that Trump has inflated or reduced the value of its assets to get more bank loans or reduce taxes.
Former President Trump denied the allegations, protesting the “political witch hunt.”
It is also noted whether the tax data will be made public.
Former President Trump promised to disclose his tax details during the two elections, but he did not keep his promises until he retired.
However, if the prosecution charges former President Trump and includes tax data in the complaint, the public can also see it.
