The prosecutor detailed at length during this hearing the shortcomings of the Balkany, who rang their electronic bracelet a hundred times. During this hearing, the defense of the Balkany spouses, led by Me Pierre Olivier Sur, tried to reverse the situation and obtain new measures of placement under electronic control. A confinement not very respected
Definitively sentenced in the tax evasion section to three years in prison, the Balkany spouses had previously benefited from placement under an electronic bracelet for a period of nine months. This regime required them to remain confined inside the 1,000 square meters of their Giverny mill before 2 p.m. and after 6 p.m. each day. During these four hours, they are free to leave their mill, but with a strict obligation to return at 6 p.m. sharp, as in Cinderella, failing which their electronic bracelet “rings” in the premises of the Rennes prison administration.

However, over the months, the Balkany have accumulated the “rings”, mainly for “short periods”. But they apparently continued… For longer overtaking, the Balkanys justified a breakdown on the motorway for him, and traffic jams on the way home from shopping for her.
