The project «Shipsea» / Article will play its new songs in Kalnciems quarter

On August 4, the project “Shipsea”, in which Jānis Šipkēvics, Miķelis Putniņš and Rūdolfs Macats will perform, will give a summer season concert in Kalnciems quarter, the representatives of the musicians informed.

The trio of musicians will perform new music created by Jānis Šipkēvics, which has been created outside the repertoire of the group “Instruments”. “Shipsea” is a music project created in 2015 by singer, composer and co-founder of the group “Instruments” Jānis Šipkēvics.

Currently, Jānis Šipkēvics and like-minded people Miķelis Putniņš and Rūdolfs Macats have started work on the new album of the project “Shipsea”, which will see the light of day at the end of this year. Visitors to the Kalnciems quarter concert will have the opportunity to be one of the first to listen to the musical material of the upcoming album. The concert will also feature Jānis Šipkēvics’ already known solo compositions “For Your Roads”, “Mežaparks”, “Other Names” and others.

“I am very happy to perform in Kalnciems quarter, because, in my opinion, this place is always like a sovereign festival that embodies a beautiful, meaningful joy – the joy of life; so to speak, a celebration of life! ” noted Schipevics. “I am also happy to be able to play my music and tell my life that I have experienced in the last five years in this concert. It is music that is very important to me, it is a personal adventure, but with a lot of joy and sun in it. I am also delighted to have the opportunity to perform with Miķelis Putniņš and Rūdolfs Macats, because this trio is a wonderful find in my musical life. ”

“It will be a great pleasure to meet the listeners under the musical roof of Jānis,” Miķelis Putniņš emphasized. “Some of the songs played in the program are currently being recorded for the upcoming album, so this is a very special opportunity to taste John’s new music.”

“Already in 2015, it was an honor to participate in the Shipsea concert musicians, which made me feel very inspired,” added Rudolf Macat. “So now it is all the more joy to have such a reunion with fresh musical breath!”
