The progress report of the PIAEPAL program made to Ali Bongo Ondimba – AGP

Libreville, April 13, 2023 (AGP) – The President of the Republic, Ali Bongo Ondimba, received on Wednesday April 12, 2023 in Libreville, the Prime Minister, Alain-Claude Bilié-By-Nze, with whom he took stock of the PIEPAL program in progress and which aims to improve a better supply of drinking water in Greater Libreville.

The rehabilitation of urban roads and the Greater Libreville water pipeline program were the main subjects discussed during this working session between the President of the Republic and his hosts. To this end, the Prime Minister gave the Head of State a progress report on the progress of the work relating to the Integrated Program for the Supply of Drinking Water and Sanitation in Libreville (PIAEPAL)”, indicates a press release. of the Gabonese Presidency reached the AGP.

The objective of this program is to contribute to the increase in drinking water supply and sanitation infrastructure with a view to improving the living conditions of the populations throughout the national territory, in accordance with the will of the President of the Republic.

The PIAEPAL program was launched in 2021 by the government and supported by the African Development Bank. With a cost of 77 billion CFA francs, it includes the renewal of 149 km of the drinking water distribution network in Greater Libreville, and the strengthening and extension of the drinking water distribution network over 131 km.

For this first phase of PIAEPAL’s work, more than 300,000 households have been impacted through a better water supply.
