On November 19, Governor Igor Rudenya will hold a meeting of the government of the Tver region. The first issue will be to consider the progress of gasification of the region’s territory this year and identify tasks for 2025.
“The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin set the task of creating conditions for connecting the maximum number of residential buildings, social and economic facilities to gas. Solving this problem makes it possible to ensure uniform, comprehensive development of municipalities and improve the quality of life of the population of our region. It also allows industrial enterprises to reach a new level of competitiveness and implement projects to ensure import substitution and the technological sovereignty of the country.”says Igor Rudenya.
In the Upper Volga region, priority is given to work in previously ungasified municipalities. Residents of settlements where gas has already arrived can take advantage of additional gasification: natural gas is supplied free of charge to the boundaries of consumers’ land plots.
Also at the meeting of the regional government, issues of supporting domestic tourism, athletes of the region, legislative initiatives in the fields of healthcare, retail trade and others will be considered, the press service of the government of the Tver region reported.

Guest 2: In addition to that, gasification can lead to better public health outcomes by reducing reliance on more polluting energy sources like coal or firewood. This is particularly important in rural areas where alternative energy options might be limited. Enhanced infrastructure also leads to improved services, such as better heating, which can significantly improve residents’ quality of life, especially during harsh winter months.
Welcome to the interview, ladies and gentlemen! We are here with two esteemed guests to discuss the upcoming meeting of the government of the Tver region. Firstly, please introduce yourselves and your expertise related to this topic.
Guest 1: Hello, my name is Maria Petrova and I am a political analyst and energy expert based in Moscow. I have been following the developments in the Russian energy sector closely, especially regarding gasification projects like the one in Tver region.
Guest 2: Hello, my name is Vladimir Romanov, I am the head of the Regional Development Agency in Tver. I am well-versed in the region’s socio-economic and infrastructural development policies, with a focus on the gasification project.
Q: Governor Rudenya emphasized the importance of gasification in the region’s development. Could you tell us more about the progress made so far and the targets set for 2025?

However, there’s still a long way to go considering that only about 50% of the region’s households are currently connected to the gas network. The government’s meeting aims to evaluate this year’s progress and set targets for the next 4-5 years to achieve universal gas coverage. The regional government’s focus on previously ungasified municipalities is a positive step towards achieving this goal.
Guest 2: Absolutely, we aim to connect over 85% of households and economic facilities by 2025. This will not only improve the quality of life for the residents but also provide a competitive edge to industrial enterprises in the region. The government’s support for this project is crucial as it aligns with President Putin’s vision for creating a gas-powered economy.
Q: We know that gasification benefits not only energy-related industries but also local communities. Could you elaborate on the social impact of this project?
Guest 1: Gasification has numerous benefits, including reducing air pollution, improving heating systems, and lowering energy costs.
