It was presented within the incorporable frame of the marina, and as a preamble to the celebration of Sunday 21 of the International Down Syndrome Day, the program CANDOWN, launched in the club together with the program THE PADLOCK WITH THEM.
Both programs have the collaboration of the La Caixa Social Work and develop within the “Solidarity Padlock Campaign”, which has as one of its objectives the inclusion of these groups, both Down and women operated on for cancer, in nautical sports.
The presentation was attended by the president of the Real Club El Candado, Manuel Calderón de Bonis; the head of Social Action Andalusia and Murcia of Caixabank Yolanda Solero; the Councilor for the Economy and Finance and the Malaga-East District, Carlos Conde; the Fourth Vice President and Deputy for Social Innovation and Depopulation of the Provincial Council of Malaga, Natacha Rivas Campos; the delegate of education and sports in Malaga of the Junta de Andalucía Mercedes Garcia Paine; the managing director of Malaga Sports and Events, Jose Luis Paradas ; the president of the Syndrome Association Down Ricardo Fernández Palacios and the president of ASAMMA Francisca Aguilar and the manager of FMAEC José Aldecoa.
The program CANDOWN aims to join and promote the inclusion of these people who have a different genetic condition but who can perform all actions and activities like other individuals and to whom sports practice, such as rowing in this case, can help them to improve their physical condition and work on other values such as effort, perseverance, discipline and teamwork. It currently has about twenty participants. The program has been carried out with the collaboration of Down Málaga.
The program THE PADLOCK WITH THEM, has been implanted for several months and with it it has been achieved, in addition to improving the physical condition and sequelae of the disease such as lymphedema after lymph node emptying of the arm, to be one of the best therapies at a psychological level to face the disease of the breast cancer The program has been carried out with the collaboration of the FMAEC and ASAMMA Foundation.
