The program “Deconstruction” was taken down because of the criticism of the president and the prime minister –

/ world today news/ The BSP leader referred to an act of the CEM for establishing an administrative violation

“The program “Deconstruction” on BNR was taken down because of the criticism of the president and the prime minister”. This was stated by the chairman of the BSP, Mihail Mikov, who attended the hearing initiated by the BSP LEFT BULGARIA of the heads of SEM, BNR and BNT in the culture and media commission in the National Assembly. He referred to the provided act of the CEM, imposed on the BNR, for an administrative violation. In response to this, Mikov provided the attendees with a letter from the Council to him, which states that the body did not consider the case with the “Deconstruction” show, and that no administrative sanction was imposed on the BNR. “The audience got the impression that it was a violation of the law on the occasion of “Deconstruction”, especially in its part to ensure pluralism. Then it turned out that the CEM did not make such a decision, and the chairman allowed himself to suggest to the Bulgarian viewers and listeners a position that is not the position and finding of the CEM”, said the BSP leader. He expressed the opinion that for “several years, this show has been looking for its catch” and even a parallel one was created – “Construction”, which, however, turned out to be extremely weak.

Mikov stated that the downed broadcast on BNR is an extremely bad signal for what is happening in the public media. “It is not enough that the private media are highly dependent on money and corporations, but the public media, for which the taxpayer pays – and in them a line is drawn to suit these interests,” he added.

Mariana Boyadzhieva: Accusations of lack of pluralism are absurd for a show that has open lines for listeners

“As people’s representatives, it was important for us to clarify which norms were violated during the preparation and broadcasting of the program and whether there are signs of censorship in the author’s programs when imposing the sanctions for removing them from the program scheme.” This was stated by MP from BSP LEFT BULGARIA and member of the Committee on Culture and Media Mariana Boyadzhieva. She criticized the request of the GERB MPs to end the discussion on the grounds that the topic was discussed in the 42nd National Assembly. “Accusations of a lack of pluralism sound absurd for a show that, for the most part, provides an open line for citizens to voice their opinions. We must stand in solidarity in defense of freedom of speech and the right to speak freely”, said Boyadzhieva categorically.
