The Prodigy will play their first concert in the Netherlands next year since singer Keith Flint’s death in 2019. The British band will perform at the Vestrock festival in Zealand, alongside Franz Ferdinand and Antoon, among others. The top ten acts who will perform at the event on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd June were announced on Thursday morning.
Also scheduled are My Baby, Feuerengel, Intergalactic Lovers, The Howl & The Hum, Bob Uit Zuid, Life and Coach Party. Tickets for Vestrock will go on sale November 26 at 11am.
Vestrock was first organized in 2010 on a city island of the walled city of Hulst in Zeeuw-Vlaanderen. What started out as a small-scale music event is now one of the biggest festivals in the Netherlands. There are sixty live entertainment, an educational and theater program, and one-of-a-kind shows at various locations on and around the island.
Flint, 49, was found dead in 2019 at his home near London. The singer himself took his own life. All performances of The Prodigy have been cancelled.
The Prodigy rose to fame in the early 90’s and hit the world with songs To breathe in Fire Starter. Flint, who first joined the group as a dancer and later took over the vocal part of the band, was distinguished by his extraordinary haircuts, colored lenses and piercings.
