Nettavisen has discussed Rema-Reitan’s private planes in several articles.
At first Reitan would not answer how many planes they own.
When Nettavisen could document that there is a plane registered to Reitan AS and one to Rema 1000, Reitan chose to confirm this.
At the same time, Reitan stated that the Rema 1000 aircraft has been put up for sale.
What Reitan did not tell was that they have ordered a new plane at the same time.
Well-placed sources inform Nettavisen that it will be a jet aircraft of the Citation 680 type.
This is a significantly more expensive aircraft than the Rema 1000 aircraft that is put up for sale.

New information about Rema-Reitan: – Shows little respect
– A new one is on order
Nettavisen has contacted Reitan AS to confirm that they have actually ordered a new plane.
– The use of private aircraft is a dilemma and we assess its use on an ongoing basis. One aircraft is for sale and a new one is on order. Beyond this, we have nothing more to add in this case, writes press officer Berit Hvalryg in an email to Nettavisen.
Nettavisen has also asked Reitan these two questions:
– Sources tell us that it is a Citation 680 aircraft. Can you confirm that?
– Why is it necessary to have two planes?
This is the answer from Reitan’s press officer:
– We have nothing more to add, writes Berit Hvalrygg at Reitan.
– They are ashamed
Reputation expert Trond Blindheim believes Reitan is trying to avoid answering because of shame.
– When they don’t want to admit things, and they keep it hidden, it means they are ashamed. And that is the worst of all feelings, says Blindheim.

– The customers pay for the private flight party to Rema-Reitan
Blindheim teaches at Kristiania and at the department of communication, management and marketing. He believes the private jets are problematic because it reveals a form of double standards.
– It doesn’t help to talk about being in favor of climate and sustainability, it’s action that counts, and then you have to stop doing this, says Blindheim.
Reitan CEO Ole Robert Reitan has talked a lot about sustainability and called for volunteering for the climate in the grocery industry. Reitan also brought his own delegation to the climate summit in Dubai.
– More luxury
Christian Kamhaug is an aviation expert and presenter of Flypodden. Nettavisen has asked Kamhaug to explain the differences between the old Rema 1000 aircraft and the new one Reitan allegedly ordered.
– Citation has more luxury, is quieter and has a longer range, says Kamhag to Nettavisen.
Kamhaug estimates that the price tag for the Citation 680 is around NOK 130 million. According to Kamhaug, it is around six times as expensive as today’s Rema 1000 aircraft, a King Air B200GT. The planes can be furnished slightly differently according to the buyer’s wishes. It has eight to 10 seats.
– This is a clear upgrade from the B200GT. This is a jet aircraft in contrast to the other which we call a turboprop, i.e. a propeller aircraft.
– Røkke had a turboprop plane as a “cabin plane” before the runways at Oppdal were extended, says Kamhaug.
– 100 cockroach
– It is the Rema 1000 customers who pay for the private planes, and it is easy to think that perhaps they could sell the food a little cheaper, says reputation expert Trond Blindheim.
– In times when everyone is talking about the high food prices, this is not very charming, he says.
– Should Reitan have been open about what kind of aircraft they have now ordered?
– It is of course unwise that they do not want to answer that. People will think: There is no fire without smoke, or that if there is a cockroach on the kitchen floor, there are probably 100 of them behind the stove, says Blindheim.
– Reitan should have been open about what they are doing and then explain why it is necessary, he says.
– Extra fun and tough
The biggest plane Reitan has is a Falon 2000EX.
– This plane takes it easily to New York and maybe all the way to Chicago, says Kamhaug. He estimates the price tag for a new aircraft to be around NOK 250 million,
The plane is built by French Dassault, which also makes fighter planes.
– I have spoken to pilots who say that flying a Falcon is a bit like flying a fighter jet. It’s a bit extra fun and tough, says Kamhaug.
Nettavisen was recently able to provide an overview of where Reitan uses its planes. In addition to the Oslo-Trondheim route, there were also flights to Malaga, which is close to Marbella, where Reitan has acquired a new holiday property.
There were also flights to Switzerland. Last year it became known that Ole Robert Reitan’s brother, Magnus Reitan, moved most of his fortune to Switzerland. It happened when he transferred shares to his two children, who both live in Switzerland.
– The king takes scheduled flights
The old Rema 1000 aircraft was out of the question to use on such journeys, but the new Citation aircraft will be well suited for such tasks. Together with the Falcon aircraft, Reitan will then have two aircraft that can cope well with such trips.
– The Falcon is a larger and even more luxurious aircraft, the cabin is wider, there is much better space, says Christian Kamhaug.
– The latest versions are extremely advanced and have computing power that makes it almost impossible for the pilot to make mistakes. It is a very good and safe plane, he says.
The Norwegian Defense Forces had a Falcon 20 aircraft that the King used, but it has just been put in a museum
– The king will not have any new aircraft, they hire aircraft if necessary, but otherwise take a lot of scheduled flights, says Kamhaug.
– I have flown with the King and Queen to London several times, he says.
