In the Czech Republic, the Primeros brand is a strong part of pop culture. She starred in the Oscar-winning film Shop for Corsets, a condom machine accidentally appeared in the fairy tale Three Veterans, and the brand’s logo inspired Michal Horáček and Petr Hapka’s Emotional Investment album cover. The reference to the “delicate product”, which Bohumil Hrabal wrote about, could cause a disgusted laugh, but the tragic history of the 20th century accompanies what happened to the founder of the brand.
