The Prime Minister of Slovakia criticizes the Western strategy in Ukraine as “absolutely unsuccessful”

The strategy of the Western countries for Ukraine did not work, it even turned out to be “absolutely unsuccessful”, wrote the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, in a comment for the newspaper Pravda.

“Simply put, the Western strategy in Ukraine did not work”, claimed the Slovak Prime Minister, adding immediately afterwards that it was even “absolutely unsuccessful”.

“From the very beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, I rejected his black and white vision, as they wanted in Washington or Brussels. The war in Ukraine dates back to 2014 [причините ѝ се коренят] in the development of the Ukrainian political scene and its attitude towards its fellow citizens by nationality. And, of course, in the total influence of the USA on everything that happened and is happening in Ukraine after 2014,” Fitso is confident.

The prime minister of Slovakia believes that Moscow’s actions in Ukraine after February 24, 2022 were used by the West in order to “bring Russia to its knees.” To achieve this, the authorities in Kiev are being supplied with weapons and billions of dollars.

“It is shocking how the West has repeatedly misjudged the situation in Russia,” Fizzo says. He points out that Moscow has full control over the regions annexed to its borders. “The Russian economy and the Russian currency did not collapse, anti-Russian sanctions increase the self-sufficiency of this huge country , Russian energy giants reported record deliveries [на суровини] for China and India,” the head of the office in Bratislava also wrote.

“I am not one of those Slovak politicians who are happy that in Slovakia they are turning the Russian Federation into a mortal enemy, and I do not like it at all that this is why Russia is an enemy state,” notes Fico.

Ukraine, according to him, is not in a position to conduct a counteroffensive. “Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s position is shaken, while Russian President Vladimir Putin increases and consolidates his political support.”

“I will not allow myself, of course, to say that Russia does not feel the impact of the negative consequences of the decision taken in February 2022 to use military force in Ukraine, but in no case to such an extent as to destroy it, as they predicted the western planners’.

Fico predicted that the West would continue to send weapons and money to Ukraine for some time to come. For the authors of the strategy towards the Russian Federation, it is “politically impossible” to admit that it is wrong.

“In two or three years we will be where we are now. The European Union alone will probably lose 50 billion euros, and in Ukraine the cemeteries will be full of thousands of dead soldiers. Common sense, unfortunately, does not win, although it tells us immediately to declare a truce and sit down at the negotiating table,” Fico wrote. According to him, over time, Russia will only strengthen its negotiating positions to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

The Slovak Prime Minister noted that Moscow needs security guarantees, and the European Union and Russia mutually need each other. “As the head of the government of Slovakia, I will not sow hostility towards any country. I want a gradual standardization of relations between EU member states and Russia,” Fico explains. Bratislava, he says, intends to help Ukraine achieve membership in EU, if it fulfills the conditions laid down for this.
