The Prime Minister of Moldova announces her resignation
The resignation of Gavrilica and her government took place a year and a half after its creation. At the press conference, Gavrilica noted that during this time her government was fulfilling its duties in the conditions of a permanent crisis.
Gavrilica particularly noted Moldova’s success in obtaining the status of a candidate country for the European Union. She also emphasized that the country is currently entering a new phase in which security is a priority.
According to “Radio Svoboda”, among the possible reasons for the resignation could be a fight between different factions of the ruling party.
Moldovan President Maia Sandu has already announced that she will consult with the country’s parliamentary factions and put forward a new candidate for prime minister.
