Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, held a meeting today; To follow up on the position of applying the “ACI” precharge system, in the presence of Hassan Abdullah, Governor of the Central Bank, Dr. Muhammad Maait, Minister of Finance, Eng. The Central Bank, Issam Omar, Assistant Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, Al-Shahat Al-Ghatouri, Head of the Customs Authority, Dr. Mona Nasser, Assistant Minister of Finance for Follow-up Affairs, Project Management and Customs Development, Amani Al-Wasal, Director of the Export Development Fund, and Ahmed Refaat, Head of the Central Administration for Import and Export.
The Prime Minister indicated that this meeting comes within the framework of the government’s continuous follow-up of the final position of the goods in the ports, ways to accelerate the pace of releasing the remainders in the ports, as well as the application of the pre-shipment system and the procedures for the import system.
Ambassador Nader Saad, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, stated that the meeting dealt with reviewing the current position of the pre-registration system for shipments, as well as the position of incoming goods that obtained “ACI”, as well as performance indicators, in the various seaports and Cairo Airport.
The Prime Minister praised the system’s work mechanisms and its efforts to facilitate and accelerate customs release operations in the various Egyptian ports, shorten the release time for imported goods and materials, and facilitate trade movement, pointing out the need for periodic follow-up by the responsible authorities, in a way that contributes to activating the work of this system.
