The Prime Minister in Thessaloniki – Government interventions in view of TEF – 2024-08-29 16:31:26

The improvement of the daily life of the citizen and the multi-level recovery of the country are at the center of the government’s interventions on the way to the International Exhibition of Thessaloniki.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in view of the International Exhibition, is going to Thessaloniki today. At 11:00 in the morning he will attend and speak at the event on the theme: “National Strategy for Regional Development – Presentation of Digital Platform erga.gov.gr”, at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall. He will then have meetings with productive and scientific bodies as well as with representatives of the local government.

Reforms with a social footprint

The Prime Minister, during his speech in Vellideio, is expected to underline the need for the continuation of reforms with a social footprint and with a time horizon of 2027.

In more detail, the expected reforms:

Tax cuts – income growth:

– pensioner support
– abolition of pretense fee (professionals)
– point changes in the taxation of professionals
– reduction of insurance contributions
– new pension increase of 2% -2.5% 2025
– increase in one-time tax payment deduction
– short term rental improvements

Changes to the bonus policy:

– “lifting” of the unemployment benefit
– reform of OPECA benefits
– equation of three children – many children

The main changes planned for the “My Home 2” program include::

– Expansion of beneficiaries in terms of age (50 years from 39)
– Widening of income criteria
– Special provision for zero interest rate for three children / many children
– Property age (less than 15 years)
