In September, CEZ announced that it will reduce the price of electricity for households across price lists by an average of nine percent from October. Savings are also promised by other suppliers. The reason is the decline in wholesale prices.

Grochál stated that the prices of fixed innogy products, such as the best-selling Optimal electricity tariff, will also fall in the ČEZ Distribuce distribution zone.
–
“With the most popular Optimal product, our customer will secure 13, 15 and 17 percent lower prices against ČEZ in individual years of the contract, and at the same time receive a bonus of 500 crowns each year,” said David Konvalina, director of retail and marketing, on Tuesday.

Innogy is the largest gas supplier in the Czech Republic, with about 1.2 million customers. About 0.4 million customers take electricity from the company. The company has reduced the price of gas to all customers by five percent since October. According to calculations, the family, which takes electricity from the company and heats the house with natural gas and heats water, will save over 2,000 crowns a year after reducing the prices of both commodities.
–
Prices are adjusted by others. CEZ has previously stated that after the announced drop in the company’s prices, customers will save about 230 crowns for each megawatt-hour (MWh), which means that with an average annual household consumption of 3.5 MWh, people will save several hundred crowns a year. E.ON then claims that when switching to so-called green electricity products, people will save ten percent compared to the company’s standard price lists.
