Cairo – Masrawy:

Gold prices continued their rally in Egypt during today’s trading Friday despite the decline in the price of crude oil globally, and the price of the gold pound was up about £400 today, relative to prices end of trading yesterday.

The price increase of one gram yesterday pushed the price of the gold pound to above the £11k level, but today’s continued increase took the price of the gold pound to the £11400 level, by 3.30pm on Friday.

The price of a pound of gold is equivalent to the price of 8 grams of 21 karat gold, and the price can vary from dealer to dealer, and this price equals the value of gold in a pound.

And according to Masrawy Nadi Naguib, former Secretary General of the Gold Division of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, gold prices are seeing successive jumps in the local market, due to the high exchange rate of the dollar.
