Soon, Czech drivers could expect at least some relief. The current trend, which lasted for the last few weeks, was inexorable. Gasoline and diesel prices continued to rise and seemed to be going much higher. After all, the respected American bank JPMorgan estimated that after the increase in the price of oil, gasoline in the Czech Republic could attack the border of up to 90 crowns.
Wait for the discount
Unfortunately, this is still not out of the question, but on this theoretical path we still have a certain breathing space. And who knows, maybe it will be the desired turn for the better in the end. Prices at Czech gas stations should drop soon. The drop in oil prices on world markets in the past week is to blame.
However, as is known, it takes some time for gas station operators to reflect the price of the main commodity in their prices. On the contrary, when it gets expensive, they are very fast. They will want to keep higher margins this way for a few more days, but then the competition will force them to gradually reduce prices.
According to estimates, the price of gasoline could drop even by a crown, in the case of diesel, even more. Although oil has finally stabilized and started to rise slightly, the markets seem to be flirting significantly with the risk of a recession, which could drive prices even lower, very significantly. A recession, or the collapse of the economy, will cause that there will no longer be such a demand for oil.
Gradual discounting and a possible drop
Drivers will feel the first relief sometime in the next week, while it is not excluded that the following weeks will also be in the name of discounting. The owners of gas stations preferred to increase their margins more than they had to, so that they would not have to increase prices by leaps and bounds. Now that they see oil not rising as much anymore, the pressure on prices may ease.
Although it may seem unbelievable today, it is not excluded that fuel prices will return to “normal” values. People forget a lot, but let’s remember that two years ago, after the drop in oil prices, gasoline cost 25 crowns. A lot can happen with these commodities.
