settled Fuel prices today in LebanonSunday 11 December 2022, according to the prices announced by the Ministry of Energy and Water at the start of the morning negotiations.
This comes after the significant rise in petrol and diesel prices, which the Lebanese markets have witnessed in recent days, in light of the significant rise in the prices of the US dollar, which has exceeded the threshold of 30 thousand pounds per dollar, before decreasing again after the intervention of the Central Bank of Lebanon.

Gasoline prices today in Lebanon
Fuel prices arrived according to the schedule announced by the Ministry as follows:
First: a can of 98-octane petrol fetched £758,000, up from £799,000.
Second: a can of 95-octane petrol fetched £766,000, up from £781,000.
Third: registered diesel amounted to 813,000 pounds, compared to 824,000 pounds.
Fourth: a cylinder of gas reached £469,000, compared to £466,000.

This comes in light of the sharp decline of the Lebanese pound that began since 2019 against the dollar, coinciding with an acute liquidity crisis, and banks have stopped providing depositors with their money in dollars, while the official exchange rate is still fixed at 1507 pounds.
Furthermore, this coincided with the increase in the value of the gasoline import bill by 70% since the beginning of the current year 2022, so that the Central Bank of Lebanon is unable to continue to bear the burden of fuel subsidies .
