Recently, food prices have seen a serious jump. Eggs ranked among the most expensive products, and salad vegetables now also come out salty. The price of cucumbers is no exception, in some places exceeding BGN 8 per kilogram, because of which the network was buzzing with jokes and indignation.

And the value of a fresh vegetable is far from that of a beloved fruit. Varnenka shared that a kilogram of the beloved cherries is sold for as much as 70 BGN. The woman claims that she filmed the product at the market next to Chataldzha Boulevard.

“Only for connoisseurs! The photo is of poor quality, but it is from yesterday! I took it myself!”, says Daniela S., quoted by glasnews.bg.

In the shot, we see the appetizing fruits placed in a small plate, and next to the boxes there is a price tag. From the plate we also understand the country of origin of the cherries – Argentina.

Other residents of Varna share that they have also encountered the product at a similar price. “10 days ago it was 69 BGN“, adds Vanya E.

The situation has outraged some buyers, but many believe that the price simply cannot be lower.

The price of cherries often becomes a topic, even when the Bulgarian harvest is being harvested. As often, the gendarmerie guarded the growers’ gardens from Apache raids.

The amount of BGN 70 per kilogram requested by the trader is far from unprecedented. Already in 2021, a kilo of the delicious fruit was sold at a value in Sofia. As the cherries in question were again from Argentina.
