This morning, the two men unveiled an open letter in which they talk about this sale, the objective for the recovery of the club, with an investor who will have to have adequate means. But how many would like to get the two men, at the level of the asking price, exactly? As revealed by L’Equipe, the strong duo of the Greens dream of being able to sell their shares for 20 million euros, whereas they had bought it for 6 million euros in 2004.
Negotiations already underway?
According to L’Equipe still, Romeyer would be in discussions with potential buyers, who would be a Swiss and a local. But this should not succeed, while an American track would also be under study and Bernard Caiazzo would discuss with a Saudi buyer. But the enthusiasm quickly subsided, because whatever happens, the sale should not take place before the beginning of 2022, in February. The big bomb is rather that Roland Romeyer will give up his place as chairman of the management board at the end of the season, which should be taken over by Jean-François Soucasse, who is currently the director general of ASSE services. Saint-Etienne is preparing to live long months of soap opera!
