The President: When I spoke, many were silent

When I spoke, many were silent. This was the laconic comment of President Rumen Radev on the sanctions imposed by the United States under the Magnitsky Act on 64 Bulgarian companies and individuals, including Vasil Bozhkov and Delyan Peevski.

The US restrictions caused a political upheaval and many reactions.

“Talking today is easy and safe,” Radev added.

The head of state visited the National Library “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” together with his Portuguese counterpart Marcelo Rebelo de Souza, where they viewed a special exhibition.

In the Hall of the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, President Marcelo Rebelo de Souza will be awarded the honorary title “Doctor Honoris Causa”.

The Portuguese head of state will give a lecture on “Europe – a perspective for the future”.
